Arizona Picturesque Town famous for Red Rock Landscapes and Pioneer Spirit of Wild West. Besides endless hiking trails, fabled Energy Vortexes are another major draw to the area. Cathedral Rock is said to be strongest. I've been to the area several times, and always keep returning for longer and longer periods of time. Excellent photography opportunities also include Tlaquepaque, Traditional Hispanic Arts and Crafts village, well known Sedona landmark since 1970s.
As Sedona is tourist place, there are many hotels and restaurants. Somewhat quieter Oak Creek Village, ~10km south along US 179, is personal preference. It is also close to excellent Bell Rock network of Hiking Trails. Red Rock Pass is necessary for Trailhead parking all around Sedona, and while it can be purchased at Trailheads "America The Beautiful" US National Park Pass which is also accepted. I always visited in cool and crisp November / December timeframe, but Spring months are also excellent choice (Summers are too hot all over Arizona, even in Sedona).
