Images in this gallery are mostly from Caye Caulker - small Caribbean Island reached about 30 minutes water-taxi ride from Belize City. It is a favorite destination for US and Canadian retirees; Warm Caribbean sea and Tropical climate being the main factor. Snorkeling, abundance of colorful coral reefs, Hol Chan Marine reserve and world famous Blue Hole are some of main attractions.

Besides Caye Caulker I also spent few days in San Ignacio - inland community famous for Actun Tunichil Muknal, a living museum of Maya relics. This cave is tough excursion, involving several unbridged river crossings followed by waist deep water crawl in the cave and finally some class 3 scrambling to reach out-of-this world cavern filled with Mayan relics. Climax is well preserved skeleton of 15-year old Mayan child (with dent in his skull, caused by drop of tourist camera!). Photography in Actun cave is prohibited - although several people sneaked their mobile phones. There are several other caves around San Ignacio with no such restrictions, but Actun cave is unique and highly recommended.
