Famous Iguazu Falls - the largest waterfall system in the World. Trekking in South America and not seeing Iguazu would be a crime. My visit was in early April, both for somewhat more favourable climate and lesser crowds. I decided to make base in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina side for 3 nights, then devote first day for Argentina side, second for Brazil. This is probably best overall strategy, although second - or even third visit - on Argentine side would not be out of order.

Flying into Puerto Iguazu from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque - AEP) is very cheap - just over 100CAD. There are many hotels and AirBNBs, so accomodation is never going going to be a problem. I stayed at Pirayu Hotel and Resort and it was generally ok; air condition is a must due to tropical climate. Public Bus station was no more than 15 minutes away on foot, and there are many daily departures for both sides of the Falls. You can also book a tour, just slightly more expensive. I visited Argentine side on my own, but for Brazil I opted for tour, mainly to reduce burden of border crossing formalities (there was no real benefit to this, and if I was going again I'd probably go to Brazil on my own too).

Which side is better? I strongly suggest to visit both, and make up your own mind. Majority of the Falls is on Argentine side, but probably better views are in Brazil. I personally liked Argentine side better because there was much more walking. In Brazil there is just one 2 km platform, where you need extra big elbows if you want to see anything, while in Argentina I was able to explore more and even be on my own at times. But it is hard to be unfair; view of Garganta De Diablo (Devil's Throat) from Brazil side is one of iconic sigths on this planet few things can compare with.

Other thing I recommend visiting in Puerto Igauzu is "Hito Tres Fronteras" - hill above confluence of Igauzu and Parana Rivers and three country border: Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. There are some restaurants, souvenir shops and views are quite good. Just be aware of pickpockets; I had no problems, but be aware of your environment at all times.
