Laos trek was part of Indochina loop in January '20. Country is considerably less developed from its regional neighbors with rough roads and poor living standard. Culturally there is interesting mix of French colonial remnants, Communism and Buddhist religion. Air is still very polluted, just like everywhere else in Southeast Asia.

After sailing down Mekong river from Thai border crossing, I spent 3 days in Luang Prabang -- well worth a visit. Scenic Kuang-Si Falls were just one of highlights. Next was Vang Vieng with many underground caverns. I rented a bicycle and visited Tham Phu Kham cave above famous Blue Lagoon. Finished off with visit to capital Vientiane; Pha That Luang (or "The Great Stupa") is a must see!
