I spent 3 weeks in Cuba in February '19 following 7 week trek through Central America. Cuba is country living in the past, consequence of US imposed embargo past Castro revolution. Most foreign tourists stay in one of many resorts (i.e. Varadero) but they don't see the real country which is quite fascinating.
My trek took me from Havana east over Cienfuegos, Santa Clara (Che-Guevara mausoleum), Trinidad, Camaguey, Santiago over to Baracoa in Guantanamo Province. Trek ended in 5 day stay in Cayo Largo Del Sur island.
Cuba is well worth the visit. Lots of daily life is still about "The Revolution", Internet is scarce and life generally like it was in 60's of past century. But it changing rapidly now and it won't stay that way for long.
